Low voltage switchboards / Low Voltage Switchgear are the primary power distribution hubs of any industrial, commercial, or infrastructure project receiving power from transformers or generators and distributing it to sub-main distribution boards, MCCs, and final distribution circuits throughout the facility. Team Switchgear and Control LLC designs and manufactures custom low voltage switchboards (MLVS, SMDB, and PDB formats) from our Dubai facility, built to IEC 61439-1/2, with components from Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, and Eaton and approved for DEWA, FEWA, SEWA, and major UAE utility authorities.

Switchboard Types We Supply

Main Low Voltage Switchboard (MLVS): The primary LV distribution point receiving power from the LV side of the main transformer. Typically contains ACBs (air circuit breakers) as the incoming and outgoing devices, with busbar ratings from 1600A to 6300A. Built to Form 4 segregation for critical facilities.

Sub Main Distribution Board (SMDB): Intermediate distribution panel between the MLVS and final distribution boards, fed via MCCB from the MLVS. Typical ratings 400A to 2500A. Used extensively in commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, and industrial facilities across the UAE.

Power Distribution Board (PDB): Purpose-specific distribution panels for mechanical plant rooms, UPS rooms, IT facilities, and process equipment. Custom busbars, monitoring relays, and metering as required per project.

  • DEWA, FEWA, SEWA, and AADC approved designs and components available
  • Metering panels with MID-certified kWh meters and power quality analysers
  • Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) switchboards with detuned capacitor banks
  • Generator synchronising and load management switchboards
  • Custom RAL colour options and stainless steel finishes for harsh environments

Applications

  • Commercial buildings hotels, malls, offices, hospitals
  • Industrial facilities factories, warehouses, process plants
  • Infrastructure airports, metro stations, utilities
  • Residential communities and mixed-use developments
  • Data centres and critical power applications

What is the difference between Form 2 and Form 4 in a low voltage switchboard?

IEC 61439 defines form separation as the degree to which the internal components of a switchboard are segregated. Form 2 separates the busbars from the functional units but does not segregate individual units from each other. Form 4 provides complete segregation each functional unit is isolated from adjacent units and from the busbar, allowing individual breakers to be worked on or replaced while adjacent circuits remain live. Form 4 is required for hospitals, data centres, and critical industrial applications where operational continuity is mandatory.

Are your switchboards DEWA compliant?

Yes. We design our LV switchboards to DEWA standards and use components from the DEWA approved vendor list including Siemens, Schneider Electric, and ABB. We can provide the full DEWA approval package including verification drawings, component data sheets, and IEC 61439 compliance declarations. FEWA, SEWA, and AADC approvals follow similar processes and are available on project-specific request.
